Rosie wraps up a winner!

Rosie - Head of KitchenWe were overjoyed to hear that on Friday night Westbourne's Head of Kitchen Rosie Gentile was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Vertas: Making the Difference Staff Awards 2016.

A spokesperson at Vertas said “Rosie has been with the business for 30 years and she continues to dedicate her time and expertise into making the catering service at Westbourne exceptional.

Her knowledge of the service stream is outstanding.

Her ‘Rosie’s Wraps’ are legendary and have been introduced across the business; she continues to create new, innovative dishes in the menu. She goes about her daily routine with passion and unsurpassed degree of loyalty to Vertas.”


The Vertas Lifetime Achievement category is to recognise a member of the Vertas team who has consistently strived to develop their service area, their team and add value to the organisation in its many guises.


Ian Lipman, Academy Business Manager at Westbourne Academy said, "We are thrilled to hear that Rosie Gentile has won the 2016 Vertas Lifetime Achievement Award.  Over the last 30 years, Rosie has achieved legendary status within the school and this fantastic award is testament to her continued passion and commitment to her work."


This event was the first ever Vertas: Making the Difference Staff Awards.

There were 9 categories and they received over 140 nominations from managers, staff members and clients.

The Vertas SLT team then carefully judged each nomination and arrived at 3 shortlisted nominees for each category including a category winner.
