21/08/20 Email to Y11 students from Mr Bouckley
I just wanted to update on the current situation regarding the Year 11 Prom. As you will be aware, as soon as lockdown was announced, we quickly contacted the venue to reschedule the event as we were very much hoping that it would still be able to go ahead. However, whilst there were glimmers of good news to get things moving in the right direction for the events industry, unfortunately Wherstead Park aren't allowed to facilitate a larger gathering of 100 or more inside the building. Even from 1st October, they will still have to adhere to their socially distanced capacity which is currently 50 (including staff ) in the Atrium and far fewer in the mansion itself, which is incredibly disappointing.
With that in mind, and I really do wish it was better news, I am afraid that we have no option but to cancel this year's Prom. I was keeping everything crossed that restrictions may have been eased by now but I am afraid that this has not been the case. I really am so sorry that we are unable to celebrate the end of Year 11 with you in the way you all deserved, however, we really did do everything we could to try to make this happen.
Regarding refunds: Due to not being able to make refunds through School Money due to data protection controls, a confidential Microsoft Form will be emailed to your parent. They will need to tell us their bank account details in order for us to raise a BACS refund through the Trust’s finance accounting system. The information provided will be strictly confidential and will be used to process your refund. If you also have a credit balance on your lunch account this will be refunded at the same time if you haven’t already filled out a form online.
This may take up to a month to process due to it being a lengthy procedure but an email will be sent to you once the refund has been arranged.
